The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Islamist group linked to ISIS, allegedly kidnapped the victims from nearby villages before killing them on February 13, 2025.
The victims’ families delayed burials due to safety concerns, while many Christians in the region fled to escape further violence.
The massacre is part of ongoing violence in the DRC, where armed groups like ADF and M23 have destabilized the region, displacing over 100,000 people recently.
Advocates and officials, including Hungary’s State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians, have called for global recognition and action against the persecution of Christians in the region.
