Overview
- The incidents began around 1:50 a.m. when two vehicles left a Route 1 gas station near Dean Street, made an illegal U-turn, and sped off as an officer attempted a stop.
- Police later confirmed both vehicles—a blue Infiniti SUV and a red Lincoln sedan—were stolen and tied to a shoplifting at the Mobil station minutes earlier.
- The Infiniti fled north into Westwood and Dedham and crashed near Washington Street, where two juvenile females were found and taken to Boston Medical Center; a third passenger was detained and the driver was not located.
- The Lincoln was pursued southbound, with a Norwood supervisor terminating the chase at the Walpole–Foxborough line before Foxborough officers deployed spike strips, leading to a guardrail crash and the detention of all occupants.
- Seven juveniles, ages 13 to 15, were involved—six from Boston and one from Worcester—with the Lincoln’s driver booked at Norwood Police following evaluation at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.
