7 Dead, Over 50 Injured in Stage Collapse at Religious Event in Uttar Pradesh

A 65-foot wooden platform collapsed under the weight of hundreds of devotees, causing chaos and injuring over 50 people, with seven confirmed fatalities.
Local authorities, including the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police, initiated rescue operations and provided medical aid to the injured, 20 of whom were discharged after first aid.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to expedite relief efforts, ensure proper treatment for the injured, and ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
A case has been registered against the contractor responsible for constructing the platform, and the inquiry report is expected within a week.
