- Following the incident, the victim required a blood transfusion due to the severity of the stab wound, which nearly reached muscle tissue.
- Makinson, who has a prior conviction for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2012, is currently being held at the Travis County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
- The weapon used in the stabbing was found in a parking lot adjacent to the gym, and Makinson was arrested shortly after the incident, telling officers, "I just got out of prison for this."
