67 Indians Rescued from Cyber-Scam Syndicate in Laos

- The Indian Embassy in Laos rescued 67 Indian nationals from cyber-scam operations in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone (GTSEZ) in Bokeo Province.
- The victims were lured with false job promises, trafficked, and forced to work under intimidation and abuse by criminal syndicates.
- Embassy officials coordinated with Lao authorities to complete necessary procedures for the victims' release and arranged food and accommodations for them in Vientiane.
- Ambassador Prashant Agrawal assured the victims of their safety and encouraged them to file complaints against the agents who deceived them.
- Over the past three years, the Indian Embassy in Laos has rescued 924 individuals from similar scams, with 857 already returned to India.
