64-Year-Old Thai Woman Rescued After Two-Hour Struggle with Python

Arom Arunroj was doing dishes when a 13-foot python attacked, requiring police and animal control to free her.

Arom Arunroj, 64, was bitten and constricted by a python while doing dishes at her home in Samut Prakan, Thailand.
The python, estimated to be 13 to 16 feet long and weighing around 44 pounds, coiled around her for nearly two hours.
Arunroj's cries for help were eventually heard by a neighbor who called the authorities.
Police and animal control officers used a crowbar to release the python's grip, freeing Arunroj within 30 minutes of their arrival.
Arunroj was treated for multiple bites and is recovering; the snake escaped into nearby reeds.
