Overview

• A 63-year-old Utah woman died from her injuries a week after being attacked by her son’s two adult pit bulls and their five puppies on Oct. 31, 2023, in her backyard while she was trying to feed them.
• The woman suffered critical injuries to her face, hands, and legs, which led to the amputation of her left leg following the attack.
• Upon law enforcement's arrival at the scene, the aggressive dogs were subdued with pepper spray to allow paramedics to attend to the woman’s injuries.
• The woman's son surrendered the dogs to the local shelter. All were subsequently euthanized following the attack.
• Seven days after the attack, the woman died in the hospital from the injuries, as confirmed by her family.
