6.3 Million Use DigiYatra at Mumbai Airport as Self-Service Travel Ramps Up

The airport credits a revamped operations command centre alongside Adani Airports’ aviio platform for driving faster uptake and smoother processing.

  • From April 2024 to August 2025, DigiYatra monthly adoption rose from 12% to 32% across 46 e-gates and 40 face pods.
  • Passengers printed more than 3.86 million boarding passes at self-check-in kiosks, led by IndiGo with 2.58 million and Air India with 1.09 million.
  • About 715,000 bags were processed through 32 self-baggage-drop units with average transactions of 17–20 seconds, the airport said.
  • SBD monthly adoption increased to 13.9% for international flyers and to 6.28% for domestic travellers over the same period.
  • CSMIA is rolling out automation such as autonomous cleaning robots and plans smart washrooms plus additional AI/ML-based passenger services.
