Overview
- The long-running Wurstmarkt has returned in two stages on the town festival site between the Salinenanlage and the Dürkheimer Riesenfass with a program that opens with a Platzkonzert, a historical pageant and a formal three-gun salute.
- Festival organizers say they expect more than 600,000 visitors across the event and have scheduled main attractions, rides and daily fairground hours to manage the flow of guests.
- The festival centerpiece remains 36 traditional Schubkarch stands where visitors sit on narrow wooden benches to drink local wine served by Dürkheim winemakers.
- This year’s official drink list includes 291 wines and sparkling wines from local cellars, 17 non-alcoholic options, and published prices for common servings such as 0.5‑liter Schorle and quarter glasses of wine.
- To cope with crowd density and high phone use, the city and Wurstmarkt committee deployed an additional mobile cellular mast and coordinated operational measures to support access, safety and visitor services.
