6 Killed After Train Collides With SUV in Florida

An SUV carrying a family of seven was struck by a freight train in Plant City, Florida on September 25, 2023.
The driver attempted to cross the tracks despite warnings from the train conductor and other witnesses.
Two children and three adults in the SUV were ejected and killed; two other passengers were hospitalized in critical condition.
The group was believed to be traveling to a quinceañera celebration when the collision occurred.
The railroad crossing was marked only with a stop sign and lacked safety gates.
