6 Dead, 22 Injured After Bus Plunges Into Gorge in Uttarakhand

The accident occurred near Dahalchauri in Pauri Garhwal, prompting rescue efforts by SDRF, local authorities, and residents.

The bus, carrying 28 passengers, lost control and fell into a 100-meter-deep gorge near Dahalchauri in Pauri Garhwal district on Sunday afternoon.
Six people were confirmed dead, with five dying on the spot and one succumbing during rescue efforts; 22 others sustained injuries.
Eight of the injured are in critical condition and have been referred to a higher health center in Srinagar, while others are being treated at Pauri district hospital.
Rescue operations were conducted by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), local authorities, and residents under the supervision of Pauri District Magistrate Ashish Chauhan.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed condolences for the victims and directed an investigation into the cause of the accident.
