Overview
- Police say a passenger in a Volvo called 911 around 8:40 p.m. Sunday after the car struck two pedestrians near 2796 Cranberry Highway.
- Both pedestrians were taken to a hospital, where the woman, 57, died of her injuries, according to prosecutors.
- The Volvo’s occupants reported coming around a bend, seeing two people in the road, and being unable to avoid them because of oncoming traffic.
- The surviving pedestrian told state police the sidewalk was buried in snow, the woman used a walker, and a black truck’s passenger-side mirror hit him before the Volvo struck her.
