57-Year-Old Surfer Killed in Suspected Great White Attack Off Long Reef

Officials ordered precautionary beach closures following the attack.

  • The experienced surfer was in the water with friends about 100 meters offshore when he was pulled under, suffered catastrophic limb injuries and could not be resuscitated, police said.
