55th San Francisco Pride Celebration to Close City Streets for ‘Queer Joy Is Resistance’ Festivities

Overview

  • The 55th annual Pride Celebration takes place June 28–29 with the theme ‘Queer Joy Is Resistance’ at Civic Center and along Market Street.
  • Sunday’s parade will kick off at 10:30 a.m. from Embarcadero Plaza and proceed toward Market and 9th Street over an expected four-hour route.
  • Market Street between 8th and 9th will close from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 29, alongside full-day closures on Polk, Larkin, Hyde and adjacent downtown arteries.
  • The Civic Center festival runs noon–6 p.m. on June 28 and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. on June 29 with headline performances, community stages and a ticketed Pride for Breakfast event.
  • Security measures include a clear-bag policy allowing only specified sizes and a comprehensive ban on items such as umbrellas, glass bottles and outside food or beverages.
