Overview

• BSF, NCB and Mizoram Excise teams intercepted four vehicles on NH‑6 between Keifang and Seling, seizing about 50 kg of methamphetamine tablets and 36 grams of heroin.
• Eight suspects were arrested in the Mizoram operation and four transport vehicles were confiscated before the case was handed to local authorities for action under the NDPS Act.
• Assam Rifles and Customs in Tripura recovered 20,000 methamphetamine tablets weighing about 2 kg and detained four people during an interception in Khowai district.
• BSF and NCB in Jammu apprehended one alleged narco smuggler in Miran Sahib and recovered heroin valued at about ₹50 lakh on August 22.
• Officials estimate the Mizoram seizure at over ₹75 crore, with some reports placing combined Mizoram–Tripura recoveries at up to ₹77 crore, and they suspect the consignments originated in Myanmar.
