5 Teen Girls and 2 Adults Charged in Beating Outside Maryland State Fair

Police say the case remains active with efforts underway to identify additional participants from video evidence.

Overview

  • Baltimore County police announced charges against four 14-year-old girls, one 15-year-old girl, and two adults identified as Melika Gamble-Thomas, 33, and Tiera Gamble, 37.
  • Police said both adults were taken into custody on open warrants after a late-August assault caught on video across from the fairgrounds in Timonium.
  • Officers responded on Aug. 30 to the 2200 block of York Road, where a 16-year-old was dragged and beaten as a large group fought, and some suspects fled in a vehicle.
  • Several arrests were made at the fair gates during the response, and police reported minor injuries to officers, including an auxiliary officer.
  • Fair officials noted a 2024 unaccompanied‑minor policy and said the teens may have been denied entry, while investigators continue to assess whether weapons were involved.
