5 killed, 7 injured in Illinois tanker truck crash; toxic ammonia exposure cited

A tanker truck carrying toxic anhydrous ammonia crashed in Teutopolis, Illinois, killing 5 people.
Among the dead were a father and his two children who died from ammonia exposure.
other people were hospitalized, 5 of whom were airlifted with serious injuries.
Approximately 4,000 gallons of the truck's 7,500 gallon ammonia cargo leaked out before being contained.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash on U.S. Highway 40.
