5-Alarm Bronx Fire Damages Seven Businesses, One Injured

Firefighters and EMS workers battle blaze believed to have originated in deli's kitchen

A 5-alarm fire broke out at Bunny’s Deli Cold Cut City in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx just before 3:30 am, causing damage to seven businesses in the area.
200 firefighters and EMS workers responded to the emergency, battling the blaze from the street level and from tower ladders.
One person suffered a minor injury requiring medical attention, believed to be a resident of an apartment in the back of the deli who was treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to have originated in the kitchen at the back of the deli, but the FDNY has not confirmed the cause of the fire.
Affected businesses include a meat store, seafood market, pizzeria, flower shop, cleaning company, barbershop and a tax preparation business.
