49ers' Trent Williams Officially Ruled Out for Remainder of 2024 Season

Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed the All-Pro left tackle will not return due to injuries as the team faces a disappointing end to their season.

Trent Williams, an 11-time Pro Bowler, has been sidelined since suffering an ankle and heel injury in November and will miss the final two games of the season.
Williams has also been dealing with personal tragedy following the loss of his stillborn son, Trenton O’Brien Williams Jr., in late November.
The 49ers have struggled in Williams' absence, going 1-4 without him and being eliminated from playoff contention after a 6-9 season.
Backup left tackle Jaylon Moore, who had performed well in Williams' place, is also out for the season with a quad injury, leaving the team thin on the offensive line.
San Francisco is exploring options to fill the left tackle position, including untested players like Austen Pleasants or potential free-agent signings.
