Shared coaching history and early preparations give 49ers insight into Packers' strategy.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan and his staff had begun preliminary preparations for four potential opponents going into wild card weekend, but were able to focus on the Green Bay Packers after they took a 27-0 lead against Dallas.
The 49ers have been practicing against a Packers offensive system that Shanahan and Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur both learned as assistant coaches with Washington.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love has had a breakout season, with a balanced attack over the last five games that mirrors much of what the 49ers do on offense.
Green Bay offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich was on the 49ers’ staff under Shanahan as an assistant offensive line coach in 2017-18 and is fully immersed in the system LaFleur is imparting on Love.
Shanahan is already prepping the 49ers defense for what Love will do when confronted with certain situations.
