- Brock Purdy missed Wednesday’s practice with a toe injury, and Kyle Shanahan said the team has not considered placing him on injured reserve, calling his status “progressing.”
- Mac Jones practiced as a limited participant with knee and oblique issues after his Week 5 start and is positioned to start against the Buccaneers if Purdy remains unavailable.
- Ricky Pearsall stayed out with a knee injury, and Shanahan said he is not counting on the receiver this week, with Jauan Jennings and Jordan Watkins also not practicing.
