49 Women Report Sexual Abuse by Utah OB-GYN, Face Police Delays and Language Barriers

Utah County prosecutors are considering charges in some cases, but no decision has been made on whether to criminally charge the doctor.

49 women have reported to Provo police over the last two years that OB-GYN David Broadbent sexually abused them.
Many of these women faced delays, language issues and insensitive interviews when they went to the police.
Five of the 14 women interviewed by The Salt Lake Tribune and ProPublica said police turned them away at least once.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Utah labeled the Provo Police Department’s policies for language access as among the worst in the state.
