Final Beatles song released, new documentary aired, and killer's parole hearing scheduled for February 2024.
- John Lennon, legendary Beatles member, was assassinated 43 years ago on Dec. 8, 1980, by Mark David Chapman, a deranged fan.
- Chapman, who was denied parole for the 12th time in 2022, will be up for parole again in February 2024.
- The surviving members of The Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, released the band's final song, 'Now and Then', on Nov. 1, which included contributions from all four members.
- A three-part documentary, 'John Lennon: Murder Without A Trial', was released by Apple TV+ on Dec. 6, featuring interviews with eyewitnesses, some speaking publicly for the first time.
- An estimated 100,000 Beatles fans flooded The Dakota and Central Park in the hours after Lennon's assassination for a tear-filled vigil that shut down traffic across several blocks of Manhattan.
