41 Dead in Southern Mexico Bus-Truck Collision

A fiery crash near Escárcega left dozens dead, with authorities investigating the cause of the tragedy.

The collision occurred early Saturday morning on the Escárcega-Villahermosa highway in Campeche, involving a passenger bus and a cargo truck.
At least 41 people were killed, including 38 bus passengers, two bus drivers, and the truck driver, according to Tabasco state officials.
The bus, operated by Tours Acosta, was traveling from Cancun to Tabasco when the crash happened, leaving the vehicle completely burned out.
Authorities are working to identify the victims and determine whether speed limits or other factors contributed to the accident.
The Tabasco state government and bus operator have expressed condolences and are coordinating recovery and investigative efforts with federal and local authorities.
