4 Dead, 14 Injured in Karol Bagh Building Collapse

A five-storey building in central Delhi's Bapa Nagar collapsed, prompting a major rescue operation and raising questions about structural safety.

The collapse occurred around 9am in Bapa Nagar, a densely populated area near Karol Bagh.
The building, approximately 60 years old, had been deemed structurally sound by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi before the monsoon.
Victims include four deceased individuals from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, and 14 injured, some of whom were treated at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College.
Rescue operations lasted over eight hours, facing significant challenges due to the congested lanes, and involved multiple agencies including the NDRF and Delhi Fire Services.
Delhi Chief Minister-designate Atishi announced ₹10 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased and urged the public to report any unsafe buildings to prevent further tragedies.
