Overview

  • A DIY Perks video showcased Etherdyne’s system powering a monitor, keyboard, mouse and heated mug through a desk-embedded loop with no visible wires.
  • The evaluation kit, now available from Etherdyne Technologies, is FCC and CE certified and covers a two-by-four-foot ‘power zone.’
  • Power is transmitted by a precisely tuned wire loop beneath the surface that resonates at a specific frequency to form a 3D dome of magnetic energy.
  • Early tests measured a 10W idle draw and overall efficiency of roughly 70–80%, with the largest receiver coil outputting just 7W.
  • Etherdyne is positioning the technology for R&D teams to explore consumer, commercial and industrial applications as development continues.
