€393 Million Secured to Rebuild Bosch Centraal, Unlocking Den Bosch Spoorzone

The rebuild is intended to boost rail capacity to support Spoorzone housing.

Overview

  • Funding comes from a €119.2 million national top-up, €40.5 million from the region, €20 million from NS and ProRail, and €13.8 million from the A2 residual budget, bringing the total to €393 million.
  • The project moves from exploration into design for the station and surroundings, including a new platform, renewal of platforms 6 and 7, a wider passerelle, upgraded station squares, expanded bicycle parking and a new bus station.
  • Construction is slated to start at the earliest in 2030 and is expected to take about a decade.
  • The national government has allocated €12 million in area funding to resolve greening, energy and nitrogen constraints so housing in the Spoorzone can proceed.
  • Separately, BO‑MIRT partners approved about €1.5 billion to start Oude Lijn upgrades—initially at Leiden Centraal, Den Haag Laan van NOI, Schiedam Centrum and Dordrecht—along with track doubling and four new stations, with roughly €2 billion more still needed.
