- Organizers the National Federation of Fish Friers and principal sponsor Seafood from Norway have launched this year’s industry competition.
- For the first time, members of the public can nominate their favorite fish and chip shops and will be notified of any successful recommendations.
- A no-fee, streamlined application covers 11 categories and introduces Menu Innovation and Drywite Young Fish Frier awards for creative dishes and emerging talent.
- Entrants will undergo a rigorous judging process including interviews, practical skill assessments, business inspections and taste evaluations.
- A shortlist will be announced in September ahead of the winners being celebrated at a London ceremony in February 2026.
