Overview

• Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, inaugurated new infrastructure at the CRPF’s COBRA School of Jungle Warfare and Tactics in Torali, Khanapur, Belagavi.
• The facilities, built at a reported cost of ₹36 crore, include an auditorium, seminar hall, classrooms, an audio-visual room, a sand model room, an IED model room, a subordinate officers’ mess and barracks for 180 personnel.
• He reiterated the government’s aim to completely eradicate Naxalism by March 2026, crediting sustained operations and training upgrades for recent gains.
• The minister called the CRPF the backbone of internal security and said peaceful elections across India rely on the force’s deployment.
• He praised COBRA’s role in reducing insurgency and said areas previously affected by Naxalism are now seeing development, with senior CRPF and local officials present at the ceremony.
