Overview

• In Dantewada, 21 cadres laid down arms on Wednesday, with 13 reward-listed carrying bounties totaling Rs 25.5 lakh, including Keye alias Kesha Lekam with an Rs 8 lakh reward.
• The Dantewada surrender took place at the SP office in the presence of senior police and CRPF officials, with DRG, Bastar Fighters and the Special Intelligence Branch cited as key facilitators.

• Authorities cited ideological disillusionment, factional strains and tough forest living as drivers of defections, while campaigns Puna Margam and Lon Varratu continue to draw participants, with the latter credited with 1,042 surrenders including 267 reward-listed.
