32nd German Mill Day Showcases Hundreds of Historical Mills

Brandenburg's culture minister underlines how historic mills shape local identity through creative inspiration.

  • On Pentecost Monday, June 9, around 600 historical mills nationwide will open to visitors with guided tours, festivals and workshops.
  • In Berlin and Brandenburg, 59 mills are taking part, including the Bechliner Mühle in Neuruppin marking its 100th anniversary and the Scheunenwindmühle Saalow celebrating 30 years.
  • The official opening ceremony is set for the Obermühle and Bockwindmühle in Bad Düben in the Nordsachsen region of Saxony.
  • The Bockwindmühle Wilhelmsaue in the Oderbruch will host special activities, including children's workshops to build small windmills from recycled Tetrapaks.
