- Formal amendment G.S.R. 388(E), issued on August 11, directs NHAI and IHMCL to operationalize the annual pass system from Independence Day.
- The ₹3,000 prepaid pass covers 200 toll crossings or one year of travel on NHAI and MoRTH-managed highways for private cars, jeeps and vans.
- Commuters can pre-book and purchase the pass through the Rajmarg Yatra app or NHAI/MoRTH websites with payment via UPI, credit/debit cards or net banking.
- Activation follows a two- to three-hour eligibility verification and triggers an SMS confirmation, while state-managed tolls and commercial vehicles remain excluded.
- After 200 trips or one-year validity, FASTag reverts to standard pay-per-use mode and users must reapply to renew the annual pass.
