Overview
- The second-generation cohort of 30 students departed Sonora on September 1, arrived in Tainan on September 3, and is enrolled at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology for a ten-month placement.
- The first month of study includes courses in semiconductor technology, electric vehicles, smart manufacturing, artificial intelligence for digital cities, clean-energy topics, smart grids, and Mandarin.
- The program operates under the human-talent pillar of the Plan Sonora de Energías Sostenibles and is coordinated by the state’s sustainable development council, Codeso.
- Governor Alfonso Durazo says the participants will act as ambassadors of Sonoran technological talent, supporting the state’s positioning as a binational and global reference in innovation.
- Upon completion, the students are slated to return to Sonora to apply their training in strategic projects tied to semiconductors, electromobility, and clean energy.
