Overview
- Beckett Brown, 3, was attacked after climbing into the outdoor enclosure of his grandmother Kristen Nelson’s American bulldog in New York Mills on Jan. 11.
- Nelson was injured while trying to stop the attack, called 911, and drove her grandson to Perham Health Emergency Room.
- Deputies met them at the ER, where Beckett died from his injuries, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office.
- Nelson sustained significant injuries and was transferred to a hospital in Fargo for treatment.
- The family euthanized the dog, and the sheriff’s office says its inquiry into the incident remains ongoing.
