3 U.S. Marines killed, 8 hospitalized after Osprey aircraft crashes in Australia during training exercise

A U.S. Marine Corps Osprey aircraft crashed on Melville Island, Australia during a multinational training exercise, killing 3 Marines.
Marines were on board the aircraft when it crashed, causing injuries to all 20 survivors who were transported to a Darwin hospital.
The deceased Marines were identified as Capt. Eleanor V. Lebeau, Cpl. Spencer R. Collart, and Maj. Tobin J. Lewis.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and emergency responders will remain at the site for at least 10 days.
The MV-22B Osprey aircraft has been involved in previous deadly crashes raising ongoing safety concerns.
