3 Arrested After 29 Dead Dogs Found at Alabama Home, 24 Emaciated Dogs Rescued

Investigators say felony charges are likely as the Lee County case remains open.

  • Deputies responded to a tip around 10:45 a.m. Monday at a residence on the 8100 block of Lee Road 146 in the Beauregard community.
  • About 29 dogs were discovered dead in plastic bags piled in the backyard, ranging from puppies to adult dogs.
  • Roughly two dozen additional dogs were found alive inside the home in emaciated condition.
  • Lee County Animal Control took custody of the surviving animals for care and further evaluation.
