29-Year-Old Driver Killed After Being Ejected in Highway 401 Crash

Ontario Provincial Police reopened all eastbound lanes by early afternoon following an investigation into the collision near Dixon Road

  • The two-vehicle collision occurred just before 4 a.m. Sunday on the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 near Dixon Road in Etobicoke
  • One 29-year-old driver was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead en route to hospital
  • The second 29-year-old driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and has since been treated and released
  • No other injuries were reported at the scene, according to the Ontario Provincial Police
  • Closures on eastbound Highway 427 lanes, the Eglinton Avenue express lanes and the Claringview Drive ramp were lifted by around 12:50 p.m.
