27-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Calenzana, Corsica

Authorities have launched an investigation into the organized homicide, marking the second killing in Corsica this year.

The victim, identified as Dominique Colombani, 27, was found dead from gunshot wounds on Monday evening in Calenzana, Haute-Corse.
The incident occurred around 8 PM, approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Calvi, according to the prosecutor of Bastia.
An investigation for intentional homicide in an organized group has been opened, led by Corsica's gendarmerie and the national police's interdepartmental directorate.
This marks the second homicide in Corsica in 2025, following a year with 17 homicides and 16 attempted homicides in 2024.
Corsica's homicide rate remains significantly higher than other regions in France, with Haute-Corse reporting 3.7 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants between 2016 and 2022.
