Overview

  • On August 6, Suffolk SPCA executed a search warrant at the Bay Shore residence and rescued 25 dogs living in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions
  • Detective Sgt. Joseph Galante reported ammonia, feces, flies and deceased rodents inside the home, prompting officials to deem it unfit for human or animal occupancy
  • The dogs are now receiving medical treatment and rabies vaccinations at the SPCA’s mobile hospital outside the Islip Animal Shelter
  • This intervention follows a 2017 raid at the same property, where homeowner Robin Mills faced 22 misdemeanor counts after 21 dogs and exotic birds were seized
  • SPCA Chief Roy Gross confirmed the organization has forwarded its findings to the district attorney’s office and that criminal charges are pending
