• Following a Wednesday afternoon missing-person report, crews searched into the night, paused for safety and resumed Thursday morning before recovering a body later that day.
• The Solano County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the deceased as 23-year-old Antioch resident Nico Cuevas, who leaves behind his partner and two-year-old son, Nico Jr.
• Assisting agencies included the Sacramento, Napa and San Joaquin county sheriff’s offices, Solano County Parks, Rio Vista Police Department and the U.S. Coast Guard.
• Swimming is prohibited at Sandy Beach County Park because strong Sacramento River currents create hazardous conditions and limit search visibility.
