23% of Jan Dhan Accounts Inoperative as Reactivation Campaign Continues

Overview

  • 13.04 crore PMJDY accounts were inactive as of July 31, representing 23% of the total 56.03 crore accounts.
  • Uttar Pradesh leads with 2.75 crore dormant accounts, followed by Bihar (1.39 crore) and Madhya Pradesh (1.07 crore).
  • Tens of thousands of Gram Panchayat-level camps have reached roughly 100,000 panchayats to carry out re-KYC and nominee updates.
