Overview

• Peshman Ahmedi, of no fixed abode, has been charged with the murder of 26-year-old Tyler Hayward, who was fatally stabbed outside a Wetherspoons on Chingford Mount Road on July 6.
• On July 8, officers forced a DFDS ferry returning from Calais to dock at the Port of Dover and arrested Ahmedi in a coordinated Met and Kent Police operation.
• Passengers were stranded aboard the ferry for more than ten hours during the arrest, with limited information provided by authorities.
• Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the ongoing investigation into the killing.
• Specially trained officers continue to support Hayward’s family, who have requested privacy as inquiries proceed.
