21-Year-Old Telangana Man Dies by Suicide After Parents Deny BMW Demand

  • Bomma Johnny, 21, consumed weedicide on May 30 after his farm labourer parents said they could not afford the BMW he demanded and died on May 31.

  • He was first treated at a government hospital in Gajwel before being transferred to RVM Hospital in Mulug, where he succumbed to his injuries.
  • Jagadevpur police noted he had discontinued studies after Class 10, struggled with alcohol addiction and unstable mental health, and discovered no suicide note at his home.
  • Authorities have opened a probe under section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to determine whether any negligence or additional factors contributed to his death.
