21-Year-Old Indian-Origin Law Graduate Qualifies as Solicitor in England and Wales

Qualified in April through an accelerated distance-learning pathway, Krishangi Meshram is exploring solicitor positions in the UK and UAE.

Overview

  • She passed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination in November 2024 and formally qualified with the Solicitors Regulation Authority in April 2025 at age 21 years and four months.
  • Enrolling at The Open University at 15 allowed her to earn a First Class LLB by 18, making her the youngest law graduate in OU history.
  • By age 20, she completed the Legal Practice Course and an MSc with distinction and accumulated two years of qualifying work experience during an internship in Singapore.
  • While hailed as the youngest solicitor in recent history, librarians at the Law Society note she may not hold an all-time age record.
  • Born in West Bengal’s ISKCON Mayapur community and now based in the UAE, she plans to specialise in fintech, blockchain, AI and private-client legal services.
