21-Year-Old Dies in Eastern Ontario Watercraft Accident

A personal watercraft crash on the St. Lawrence River results in one fatality, with police investigating the incident.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a crash report involving a personal watercraft just before 6 a.m. on Sunday.
The accident occurred among a group of small islands near the Thousand Islands Bridge, between the mainland and Hill Island.
Police believe the watercraft had two occupants when it collided with an obstacle overnight.
The passenger swam to shore to seek help, while the driver was later found with no vital signs.
The driver was brought to shore and pronounced dead by authorities.
