2026 Polestar 2 Adds Faster Charging, New Chip, and Higher-Spec Performance Trim

After last year’s price cuts, Polestar tweaks its liftback as it navigates a softer 2025 sales result in Australia.

Overview

  • The base Standard range Single motor switches from a 69kWh LG Chem pack to a 70kWh CATL NMC battery, lifting DC fast charging to 180kW and adding roughly 8km of WLTP range.
  • All variants adopt a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor for the infotainment system to speed up loading and improve responsiveness.
  • Prices hold for three trims, while the Long range Dual motor Performance now includes the Plus Pack and rises by $4,700 to $85,080 before on-road costs.
  • Feature updates include the return of the 13-speaker Harman Kardon system in the Plus Pack, a new 14-speaker Bowers & Wilkins option at $3,500, a Dune paint color, revised forged wheels, and available rear privacy glass.
  • Polestar delivered 746 Polestar 2s in Australia in 2025, down 48.9% year on year, with the model trailing the Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, and BMW i4 in the segment.
