Overview
- ICC has confirmed five host venues for the tournament: Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Guwahati’s ACA Stadium, Indore’s Holkar Stadium, Visakhapatnam’s ACA-VDCA Stadium and Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium
- Eight teams—I ndia, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan—will compete in a round-robin format
- Pakistan will play all its group-stage fixtures in Colombo to avoid travelling to India under the ICC’s neutral-venue policy
- Knockout sites depend on Pakistan’s progression, with the first semi-final on Oct. 29 in Guwahati or Colombo, the second on Oct. 30 in Bengaluru and the final on Nov. 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo
- Australia enters as defending champion in a competition that ICC Chairman Jay Shah says will further elevate women’s cricket worldwide
