2025 Vuelta a España to Begin in Italy for the First Time

The 90th edition of the Spanish cycling tour will start with three stages in the Piedmont region, marking its sixth foreign start.

The 2025 Vuelta a España will commence on August 23 in Turin, Italy, with the first three stages held in the Piedmont region.
This marks the first time the race will start in Italy and the sixth time it begins outside Spain, following previous foreign starts in Portugal, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
The opening stage will run from Turin to Novara, while the second stage includes a summit finish in Limone Piemonte, and the third stage will feature a climb over the Issiglio Pass.
The remainder of the three-week route, which returns to Spain after the fourth stage, will be officially revealed on December 19.
Italy holds a significant place in Vuelta history, with Italian riders winning 187 stages and six overall titles since the race began in 1935.
