2025 Oscars to Feature Performances by Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Other Music Icons

The Academy shifts focus away from Best Original Song performances, highlighting musical acts celebrating filmmaking and its legends.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, stars of the Oscar-nominated film Wicked, will perform live, with rumors suggesting a medley from the musical though unconfirmed.
Other performers include Doja Cat, Lisa of BLACKPINK, Queen Latifah, and RAYE, with the Los Angeles Master Chorale also making a special appearance.
This year’s ceremony will not feature live performances of Best Original Song nominees, instead spotlighting personal reflections from the songwriters.
Wicked, which earned 10 Oscar nominations including Best Picture, is not eligible for Best Original Song as its music originates from the 2003 Broadway production.
The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will air on March 2, 2025, at 7 p.m. ET on ABC and Hulu.
