2024 Presidential Debate Locations and Dates Announced Amid Uncertainty Over GOP Participation

Virginia State University will be the first historically Black college or university (HBCU) to host a general election presidential debate on October 1, 2024.
The first presidential debate is scheduled for September 16, 2024, at Texas State University, and the third will be held at the University of Utah on October 9, 2024.
The only vice presidential debate will take place at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania on September 25, 2024.
The Republican National Committee has previously voted to boycott events held by the Commission on Presidential Debates, accusing it of anti-Republican bias.
Former President Donald Trump, who is leading in the polls for the GOP nomination, has skipped all primary debates so far and has not yet committed to participating in the general election debates.
